Bargaining Update #11 (2-11-16)

Dear colleagues,

Before the report on the update, please note that there is a public Executive Board Meeting of the CCFF in HS 102 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.  On the agenda are:

  • Latest negotiations update
  • Brief Q & A with the negotiations team – impasse process
  • Explanation of COPE endorsement process
  • Call for the rally on Wednesday, February 17

In negotiations last Thursday, February 11, 2016, much of the session focused on the District’s response to the CCFF proposal on Academic Freedom.  Thanks to the Faculty Senate resolution regarding Academic Freedom, which passed unanimously on Tuesday, February 2, the District offered modest changes, but the document still falls short of standards set by the American Association of College and University Professors.  The District, though, seems amenable to suggestions.  We will be presenting our counter at the next session on this one.
